Dove hired FBI-trained forensics artist Gil Zamora to participate in an experiment. The company asked random women to come into a studio and sit on a couch facing opposite of Zamora who then asked each female to describe themselves. Then the women had a conversation with a another stranger who was also asked to sit on the couch and describe each woman. Above you can see the images from the experiment.
The result was shocking; sketches made off of descriptions from the women themselves were noticeably uglier than ones made off of strangers . The study implies that women don’t see their own beauty. See the video of the experiment yourself below (and try to ignore all the dumb fluffy music). [read]
