Jim Marshall, founder of Marshall Amplification, has passed away, aged 88. Since it was founded 50 years ago, Marshall has become on of the most recognised names in the guitar industry, gracing stages around the world.
The eponymous founder himself originally started out as a drum kit retailer before building guitar amplifiers in the early 1960s, which went on to be played by the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Angus Young, Slash and countless others.
