Mic Shoot-Out : Blue Bottle versus AKG C-12

Image Founded in 1995 by Skipper Wise and Martins Saulespurens, Blue has grown from a desire to create a few hand-built mics for fellow musicians into a unique, multi-faceted audio company with a prestigious line of award-winning microphones and accessories. Headquartered in Westlake Village, California and with engineering and manufacturing facilities in Latvia, Blue Microphones continues to grow and lead the way with cutting-edge design and technological innovation in the field of recording. Current projects include the building of a state-of-the-art recording and training facility and capsule testing area located at company headquarters in Southern California.

Having been very impressed by Blue, we have forged a relationship with them
and asked if they would willing put up their microphones for review and shoot-outs.
Confident in their quality and the performance of their mics, they basically
said, “bring it on”.

The first video is a mic shoot-out between Blue’s BOTTLE and Don
Felder’s
(the Eagles from 1974–1980 and from 1994–2001) C-12 microphone. This 7-minute
video will provide an opportunity for you to listen to these two mics go at
each other on both an acoustic and electric guitar.

When making a choice between two options, only consider what’s going to happen in the future, not which investments you’ve made in the past. The past investments are over, lost, gone forever. They are irrelevant to the future.
